Dr.  Wilkes is originally from Buffalo, New York. He obtained his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo (UB) and his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry. 

Dr. Wilkes practiced at the Illinois Eye Institute, Chicago, Illinois for 1 1/2 years and then returned to Buffalo where he has practiced Optometry for the last seven years and is now an associate at Anthone Eye Center.
